If you travel with your own car from the south, there are several alternative driving routes to Lofoten. The E6 is the fastest route, but if you put in a little extra time heading north, the coastal road around Helgelandskysten is an exciting alternative. You can choose to cross the Vestfjord in Bodø, at Skutvik or Bognes.
