If you want to live centrally and eat well in a vibrant and historic fishing village in the town of Svolvær, then we are the natural choice to create the perfect agenda for your next meeting in Lofoten.

At Svinøya, have we welcomed travellers since we first were granted the title Guesthouse in 1831.

With us, you live and sleep well in our comfortable fisherman cabins, historical houses, or you can live like real ‘Nesse’ kings at the Manor House from 1828. We have a total of 125 bedrooms with 244 beds in our fishermen cabins, historical houses and at the Manor House.

At Lofoten's best-preserved trading wharf from 1828, you will find our reception, Krambua, which was Svolvær's very first local store. Here, your group will be welcomed with our story. At the same pier you will also find one of Lofoten's most renowned restaurants, Børsen Spiseri. Here we create great local dining experiences in a unique setting for our guests. The restaurant has a capacity for up to 250 people. Our outdoor seating, which has a view over Svolvær harbour and Svolværgeita, has a capacity of 120 guests, and when the sun is shining, this is exactly where it shines the longest.

Right outside our restaurant you will also find our Fjord Sauna which is located outside on a large floating jetty. It is open every day of the year for drop-in, or you can reserve the entire sauna for your group. There is room for 20 people in the sauna at a private event.

We offer comfortable and well-arranged meeting room facilities with a capacity of up to 150 people. You can choose between working in unique artistic surroundings in the Gallery Gunnar Berg, or in rustic surroundings at the Stockfish Loft - in the middle of vibrant northern Norwegian coastal culture. We also have smaller group rooms available.

In order to create great memories, unity and desired results in the group, what happens outside the meeting room is perhaps just as important. Lofoten offers a wide range of experiences throughout all seasons and we help you find exactly what suits your group best. A good start to a stay with us is to get the story of the Lofoten fisherman, the landowner, the fisherman cabin, the fishing villages, the battle of Trollfjord and the stockfish. At Svinøya, the history is preserved. Take part in a fantastic fishing village walk where you’ll have the chance to taste stockfish and finish off with a drink.

Experience Lofoten fishing all year round

A fishing boat with its crew will pick you up at Svinøya Rorbuer. Enjoy the scenery and breathe in the world's freshest sea air. There will always be something to lay your eyes on whilst waiting for the bait to catch.

Trollfjord & Sea Eagle Safari all year round

You will be picked up by the RIB boats at Svinøya Rorbuer and the journey towards Lofoten’s most visited attraction, the Trollfjord, begins. A fantastic trip where you get up close to the natural elements. One of the highlights is always when the sea eagle dives right down next to the RIB to pick up herring the skipper has thrown out. This trip can be combined with a lunch stop on the island of Skrova, also called Lofoten's Hawaii.

Mountain hike in spring, summer or autumn

Based in Svinøya and Svolvær, there are many great mountain hikes you can do. Which all offer spectacular views and opportunities for beautiful photos. The guide will meet you at Svinøya and take you to the best suited peak for your group.

Visit Henningsvær all year round

Half an hour's drive from Svinøya is this small fishing village which is definitely worth a visit. Here, each house has its own character, and the visit can be combined with a tasty fish course at a small restaurant at the harbour. In connection with a Christmas party, it is always nice to pay a visit to the Christmas market in Henningsvær.

Kayaking experiences all year round

Sea kayaking is often exciting and can be a bit challenging for those who are trying it for the first time. This gives a great sense of achievement which the participants can carry with them in the future. A double kayak is used for groups and the guides are very skilled. The safety of the participant is always the highest priority so the participants will have a good experience, a true conditioner for the soul as we say in Norway. The group is picked up at Svinøya Rorbuer.

Ski Touring in Lofoten from February to May

The Lofoten islands offer some of the most beautiful mountain tops in the country. The contrast between pointed peaks, magnificent views and the sea below is unique and created for epic skiing experiences. With Svinøya as a base, the classic and best peaks are only a few minutes away. Together with certified guides, your group can experience the peaks that are best suited to their level and ability.

Surfing in Lofoten all year round

Surfing is a fun experience that suits everyone. We organise transport to one of our partners with great facilities. You will be warmly welcomed and will receive the equipment necessary. Our partners offer changing rooms, top equipment and certified instructors who will teach you the basics of surfing. Floating in the winter sea and not freezing is a brilliant experience and when you are stood on the board, surfing the waves, it gives an indescribable sense of fulfilment. Our partners offer lunch and dining; a great end to the experience.
