The Grand Tour of Lofoten is our most comprehensive sightseeing journey, taking you through the landscapes and fishing villages that have made these islands famous around the world. These are the places you’ve seen in travel magazines, guidebooks, National Geographic features, Lonely Planet recommendations and, of course, all over Instagram.

Starting in Svolvær, we’ll travel west through the spectacular Lofoten archipelago, stopping at some of its most famous and photogenic locations.

Our first major destination is Henningsvær, one of Lofoten’s best-known fishing villages. Built across a collection of small islands beneath dramatic mountains, its harbour, traditional buildings and spectacular setting have made Henningsvær an essential stop for visitors to Lofoten.

From here, we continue west as the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic, eventually reaching Ramberg and its famous white-sand beach. Arctic beaches are one of Lofoten’s great surprises, and Ramberg’s combination of turquoise water, pale sand and towering mountains makes it one of the most photographed.

Then comes the landscape that has become synonymous with Lofoten: Reinefjorden.

We’ll explore Hamnøy, Sakrisøy and Reine, three neighbouring fishing villages surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Norway. Red and yellow fishermen’s cabins stand beside impossibly clear water, while sheer granite peaks rise directly from the fjord. If you’ve searched for Lofoten online, you’ve almost certainly already seen these views.

We’ll make an extended stop at Sakrisøy for lunch, giving you time to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and experience one of Lofoten’s most beautiful fishing communities rather than simply jumping out of the vehicle for another photograph.

But Reine isn’t the end of our journey.

We continue all the way to Å, literally the end of the road. This historic fishing village sits at the western end of the E10 and provides a fitting final destination for our journey across Lofoten.

Throughout the day, your local guide will bring the landscape to life with stories about Lofoten’s fishing heritage, communities, culture and extraordinary natural environment. There will also be plenty of opportunities for photography, from the famous viewpoints to smaller details and spontaneous stops along the way.

This isn’t about ticking off one or two places. It’s about experiencing the Lofoten you’ve travelled all this way to see.
