Covid 19 - Corona - How we response

At Svinøya Rorbuer, we take the advice of NIPH and take COVID-19 seriously so that our guests will feel safe during their summer holiday in the Lofoten Islands.

At Svinøya Rorbuer, we take the advice of NIPH and take COVID-19 seriously so that our guests will feel safe during their summer holiday in the Lofoten Islands.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health says that traveling to your cabins poses less risk of spreading infection because you are usually there with family or friends you are already in contact with at home. This is also the case when booking a stay at Svinøya Rorbuer. All our units have the possibility of self-catering. Check-in can be done through our reception, or we can arrange for you to collect your key from a key box.

All surfaces in our cabins are being extensively deep cleaned and we have equipped all units with hand sanitizer. Outdoor parking is available close to the cabins so you can easily and safely move between your accommodation and your car.

Our restaurant Børsen Spiseri will be open all summer. The restaurant is also taking advice from NIPH and will have at least a meter between tables both inside the restaurant and outside in our popular outdoor dining area. We will operate with two fixed table seatings for inside dining, and our a la carte menu will consist of our most popular dishes and as always, be based on local ingredients. All premises will be extensively deep cleaned every day and further necessary cleaning will be done between the seatings.

Our regular breakfast buffet will not be served this summer. As an alternative, we can arrange for a basic breakfast package to be delivered at your door. Please ask in reception or by calling +47 76069930 if you’d like to make an order.

The reception and Børsen Spiseri will have reduced opening hours throughout the summer, but on our website, you can always access all information about our offers and recommended experiences.

We ask our guests to please follow the general advice from NIPH during your summer holiday in the Lofoten Islands:

  • Do not engage in travel or activities that may increase the risk for you to need assistance from a rescue team or health services.
  • Avoid public transport if possible.
  • Make sure you comply with the health authorities’ request of keeping 1-meter distance to others in your surroundings.
  • To the best extent possible, interact only with the ones you normally interact with and your travel companions.
  • Avoid crowding in stores designed for only a few customers at the time. If necessary, we suggest bringing what you need from home.

If you need help, call your doctor. If you cannot reach your doctor, call the emergency out-of-hours clinic (116117). For acute, life-threatening illness, call 113.
