Fresh ingredients – guaranteed!
Our mother company L. Bergs Sønner’s fish landing station is only 50 metres away from our restaurant. In addition to this, they also have a fish landing station at their disposal in Laukvik on the northern coast of Lofoten (on the “far side”). This makes us very fortunate with regard to the availability of fresh fish, and our chefs have the privilege of picking out the finest quality fish for their dishes. There are not many other restaurants that can boast of having their own fish landing station.
When we serve “lutefisk” (cod in lye), “boknafisk” (cured cod), stockfish or fresh “skrei” (Norwegian Arctic cod), it is with great pride that we can tell our guests that the fish has been landed by the fishermen here on Svinøya island and also processed here, soaked in lye or hung out to dry on the fish racks here, and finally served here. At restaurant “Børsen Spiseri” you can enjoy first-rate Arctic fish dishes in a quayside atmosphere with the ambient scent of tar and rope.
Larger parties can be waited on in the fish landing station itself, where we serve a fantastic seafood buffet. We have done so a number of times before, and with great success.
